Dear Ms. Triebold:

Thank you, to you and the AAPS, for the generous scholarship. This will greatly help in paying for my studies at South Dakotas School of Mines and Technology.

I am currently a junior geology major at SDSM&T, with plans for a career in vertebrate paleontology. Prehistoric life has fascinated me since the age of four, when my parents took me to see Dinosaur Park in Rapid City, SD. This interest continues to this day. Thanks to the generosity and support of many individuals-amateur, academic and commercial-I have been able to pursue my research. Current projects include a description of the first vertebrate tracks from the Fall River Formation of South Dakota (recently presented at the SVP meetings), a description of a new skull of the horned dinosaur Torosaurus, research on disease and injury in horned dinosaur frills, and investigations into the function of the sinuses in horned dinosaurs.

Thank you again for the scholarship-I really appreciate it, and I will do my best to live up to the standards demanded by such an honor!

Sincerely,

Andrew A. Farke
